  1.                            FASTFAX IV

  3. FastFax  IV  is  a  memory resident  utility  which  captures  HP
  4. Laserjet  II (PCL 4) printer commands from within any  application
  5. and  faxes  the resulting document. This means that what  you  fax
  6. will  look the same as if you had printed it out on a HP  Laserjet
  7. printer.  FAstFAx IV can be activated by a hotkey, printing  to  a
  8. specific  printer  port, or a combination of the  two.  This  will
  9. allow you to print to a printer port for sending a fax and another
  10. port for generating a hard copy printout.

  12.      While  at  the DOS prompt, type FASTFAX.  Once  loaded  into
  13. memory, FastFax IV can be used to send a fax or create a fax file
  14. to  fax  at  a later time. The command line and  options  are  as
  15. follows.

  17. To  use  FastFax  IV  from within a  DOS  application,  press  the
  18. activation  hotkeys, ALT and '/' keys simultaneously  (unless  you
  19. specified  the  /L# option). If the application  provides  printer
  20. drivers, be sure to select the HP Laserjet II or PCL4 driver prior
  21. to printing. If the application does not provide a driver for  the
  22. Laserjet  II,  select  a generic or text printer.  Now  print  the
  23. document to be faxed from the DOS application in the normal manner
  24. provided  by  that  application. A short tone will  sound  as  the
  25. printing begins. After the document is printed, a short audible to
  26. will sound as FastFax IV deactivates.

  28. A dialog box will appear to allow you to specify to FastFax IV how
  29. to  proceed  with the document just printed. Selecting  the  Phone
  30. List  button  will display your Fax Phone List and  allow  you  to
  31. select a number or group of numbers from that list.
  32.      Fax options provided, allow you to Send the document now,  or
  33. at  a  scheduled  time, Save the document to a file  for  a  later
  34. transmission with QL II Fax or both Send the document and Save  it
  35. to  a  file. After completion of the process the  dialog  will  be
  36. removed  and you can resume your work in the application you  were
  37. using.
  38.      If you want to remove FastFax IV from memory,  simultaneously
  39. press the ALT and '=' keys.
